The German, who lives in Vorarlberg, was reported missing a few days ago, the police said. After the 44-year-old’s vehicle was discovered last Tuesday, a large-scale search operation was launched.
The man’s body was found on Thursday; he was probably lost and died of hypothermia.
According to police investigations, the German was on his snowboard in the Bödele ski area above Dornbirn on January 20th. A few days later, the 44-year-old missed an appointment, whereupon a missing report was filed.
Initial search was unsuccessful
When the operator of a parking lot on Bödele noticed the man’s car on February 6th, there was the first indication of a search operation. While the first search was unsuccessful, the second search on Thursday confirmed the 44-year-old’s death.
His lifeless body was discovered in pathless terrain below Bödelestrasse.
