  • Four young people between the ages of 13 and 15 have been missing since Friday.

  • As friends say, the teenagers had been planning to run away for a long time.

  • Zoe (13) and Emilia (13) are said to have asked their classmates for addresses so that they could send letters before they left.

Four young people from Schaffhausen are missing. They were last seen on Friday morning. People close to them suspect that Dario (15), Léonard (14), Zoe (13) and Emilia (13) are on their way to Spain. The friends of the missing people are very worried.

“We’re not old enough to defend ourselves”

Mailey and Alina, who are close friends with the two missing girls, say: “We are afraid for the four of them.” Neither of them has any idea where the teenagers are. “Hopefully they don’t meet any strange people. You’re not old enough to defend yourself.”

The missing boys, Dario and Léonard, had been talking about running away to Portugal for a long time. Afterwards it was said that they wanted to go to Spain via Geneva and France. “But they probably won’t make it that far with the little money they have,” say 14-year-olds Mailey and Alina. There are rumors that the planned trip to Spain was just a cover and that the four of them went to Hungary.

Farewell letters to comrades

As the Schaffhausen students say, their classmates received messages from the young people on Thursday evening. “I love you,” Zoe wrote to several people. The girls also asked their comrades for addresses so that they could send letters before they left. Zoe gave a good friend letters for her colleagues. As Mailey and Alina say, these were not distributed, but handed over directly to the police.

Another person who knows the teenagers is silent about the reasons for the escape – it is “too private”. The Schaffhausen police are still looking for the missing teenagers. Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the young people should call 052 624 24 24.
