Leading 1-0 in stoppage time, Orlando City SC thought they were on course with victory, but the team were surprised and allowed two goals against DC United to take a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat.
Junior Urso opened the scoring in the 9th minute by putting the ball over goalkeeper Rafael Romo and the lead held until the final minutes of the match.
In a final burst of hope, Chris Durkin pushed the ball into the back of the net in the first minute of stoppage time to tie the game.
Visibly inspired by this important goal, DC decided to make Orlando pay dearly for this faux pas. Moments later, in the 5th minute of stoppage time, Taxi Fountas accepted a pass into the box and sent the ball into the back of the net to give DC the lead in a dramatic end to the game.
DC thus ends its losing streak at three and signs a first victory since July 4th. This gain was also signed against Orlando.
