Mobile Recyparc: Convenient Waste Disposal Service for Users with Mobility Issues

The BEP’s mobile Recyparc is a local service for users with loss of mobility or who do not have means of transport. This tool is complementary to the 33 classic and sometimes very distant recycling parks. In Onhaye for example, he avoids having to go to Warnant or Dinant.

After the feasibility study of the project as well as the analysis of the needs of the citizens, the mobile recyparc arrived. It’s a nice free service, which allows you to drop off some waste at the container park. The categories that can be deposited in this mobile recycling park are: frying oils and fats, used engine oil, batteries, household waste (cans of paint, solvents, fire extinguishers, plant protection products, x-rays, oil filters), energy-saving light bulbs, light tubes, broken flat glass, used syringes, smoke detectors, cold weather, corks, screens and small WEEE (waste electrical equipment and electronic). We met the Recyparc in Onhaye, on Place Collignon. The Walhérois have worked in an original way. As soon as the tool was born, the Municipal Advisory Council for Seniors showed itself to be a taker. And it works well: a work vehicle picks up the mobile recycling park at BEP-Environnement in Floreffe; he takes it to Onhaye, then to Anthée, Sommière, Weillen and Falaen.

It is seniors who open the machine, as you do with a food truck: they deploy it and install the various plastic boxes, colored according to the waste to be put there. The head of the Social Cohesion Plan comes regularly to greet the volunteers.

Anyone can bring their small waste to the Recyparc. He is well received by a team of smiling seniors who are ready to help.

The Recyparc stops regularly in the entity. About one per term. And when the tour has been completed, it is emptied by the works department.
