CAMPECHE.- This afternoon an accident was reported on the Akal-B platform of the Cantarell Production Asset (APC), in the Campeche Sound.
Boats were mobilized to the platform area to fight the fire and rescue workers on board the oil installation.
Start of fire on Pemex platform
It turned out that the origin of the accident was a burst. Unofficially, the figure of 10 injured people was handled.
It was later confirmed that Pemex service providers were already on board a vessel in the vicinity of the platform.
Finally, Pemex announced in a statement that it was a fire outbreak that occurred at 4:48 in the afternoon in the area where the pipes that handle fuel gas for the turbomachinery are located.
It was reported that the fire was controlled at 5:04 in the afternoon and that nine workers (two from Pemex, three from Diavaz and four from Coter) suffered non-serious injuries, who were transferred to Ciudad del Carmen for evaluation.

The relatives remain outside the hospitals, waiting for information on the health status of the injured, but they deny the official medical reports; some have been discharged.
