Modern Warfare 2: New details on the “DMZ” mode

A famous leaker recently clarified the third mode of Modern Warfare 2 which is currently known as the “DMZ”.

Although the release of Modern Warfare 2 is still several months away, fans of the license are overwhelmed with impatience to discover this new opus developed by Infinity Ward.

This new CoD which should focus on the conflicts of the Colombian cartels will give rise to a Warzone sequel, the details of which also accumulate. But today new information about the third mode of this future game has surfaced.

While Treyarch and Sledgehammer generally prefer to use Zombies as a third mode, Infinity Ward has preferred to keep the supernatural out of its games since Infinite Warfare.

And this should continue in MW2, with the appearance of a new mode known for the moment under the name of “DMZ”.

Battlestate Games

MW2’s new “DMZ” mode is expected to draw inspiration from some elements of Escape from Tarkov.

If comparisons with Escape From Tarkov from Battlestate Games have already been made in the past in relation to this new mode, the famous leaker TheGhostofHope reiterated them in a recent series of tweets from May 6, in which he claims the mode will launch in beta first.

The leaker, who has already published accurate information about MW2 said: “Modern Warfare 2’s third mode, ‘DMZ’, will launch in BETA“.

He then quoted an unknown source, which seems likely to be from Activision or Infinity Ward: “A mode like DMZ only becomes definitive once the general public gets their hands on it. This is an important mode that requires maintenance.

And when asked by a fan how this game mode will look like Tarkov, the leaker explains: “What you take with you, you can lose. It’s more tactical.

While the suggestion of a beta launch for this new mode may frustrate some fans, it on the other hand underscores the potential for this one to expand and improve.

It’s also worth mentioning that past leaks do not guarantee the accuracy of this information, which will remain unconfirmed until Activision or Infinity Ward breaks their silence.

We will therefore have to be patient before learning more about Modern Warfare 2.
