New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Europe on May 2 for a three-day state visit. He is visiting Germany, Denmark and France. This is the Prime Minister’s first foreign visit this year. The visit comes at a time when European countries are at odds with India’s position on Ukraine.
Modi will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholes in Berlin. The two will co-chair the India-Germany Government level talks. This is Modi’s first meeting with Chancellor Scholes. Both leaders are attending a commercial event. Modi will also interact with the Indian community.
Arriving in Copenhagen, Denmark, Modi will hold talks with Prime Minister Met Fredericks. He will also meet with the Danish Queen Margaret. Modi will also attend the India-Nordic Summit and interact with the India-Denmark Business Forum and the Indian community.
The Prime Minister will also hold talks with the Prime Minister of Iceland Catherine Jacobsdottir, the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gar Store, the Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Anderson and the Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin at the India – Nordic Summit. Topics at the Nordic Summit include post – Kovil Economic Development, Climate Change, Innovation and Technology, and Green Energy. This is the second summit after 2018.
On his way back, Modi will pay a short visit to Paris on May 4 and meet President Emmanuel Macro.
