Arab artist Mohamed Abdo filed a lawsuit once morest Moroccan artist Basma Bousil for performing the song “Places” and publishing it without obtaining his approval.
The crisis began following Basma performed “Places” with her voice, dedicating it to the soul of her late father. Bousil published the song accompanied by the comment: “This song was my father’s journey when he used to drive me to university and save it for me every morning. I felt her words until he died. Oh God, have mercy on my father and forgive.” for him”.
The Moroccan artist received a notice of prosecution from the Saudi artist, for re-singing “Places”, without asking his permission, but she expressed her anger and said: “Even the cover (Places) that I made for my father want to sue me for it!… I am upset that I am erasing something I did with all my feelings for my father… if it were I have artistic credit. I will never disappoint any human being who loves to sing something for me.” Bousil concluded: “u guys can claim it unless the issue is something else!”
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time, as Bousil previously performed a song without asking its owners’ permission, and a crisis arose between her and the “Al-Wattari” company following she performed the song “Who is the one who chooses,” which belongs to the Lebanese artist Heba Tawji.
