The father of Mohamed Sherif, the star of the first football team in Al-Ahly club and the Egyptian national team, said that Carlos Queiroz, coach of the Pharaohs, contained his son, after the crisis of his substitution against Cameroon in the semi-final matches of the African Nations Cup.
Mohamed Sherif’s father said, in televised statements: “Carlos Queiroz, the coach, contained Mohamed’s anger after the change in front of the Cameroon national team, and Wael Gomaa, the team manager, spoke with Mohamed and there is no crisis.”
He added, “God willing, the Egyptian team will be successful against Senegal.”
The national team began its campaign in the current edition of the tournament with a surprising defeat, losing in the first meeting in the group stage against Nigeria with a clean goal, then beating Guinea Bissau with a clean goal, and beating Sudan with a clean goal as well, to qualify for the second national team, accompanied by Nigeria, in the role of The 16 Pharaohs beat Côte d’Ivoire 5-4 on penalties, before defeating Morocco in the quarter-finals 2-1, then Cameroon 3-1 on penalties, to set the Pharaohs against Senegal in the final match.
