Kovalam: A world record-setting cosmic sculpture has been completed. In a few days, the sculpture will be the decoration of actor Mohanlal’s house. In the Kovalam Craft Village, the 12 feet high wooden sculpture has an 11-faced Vishwaroopam on one side and a Dashavatara around the Panchajanyam sounding Krishna on the other. Vishwaroopam is a three-and-a-half year effort by a team of Vellar Nagappan and 8 other sculptors at Craft Village, an art village in Vellar.
Below the Vishwaroopam, behind the chanting and gambling, you can see the Bhishma and Panchali costumes on the bed. Kaliamardanam, Krishna and Gopis are included in the design.
There are regarding 400 characters in the sculpture. Vishwaroopam, which was built 6 feet 3 years ago, was bought by actor Mohanlal. Nagappan said the 12-foot Vishwaroopam was built on the instructions of the actor. Other sculptors are Radhakrishnan, Ramachandran, Peetham Vijayan, Saji, Bhagyaraj, Soman, Sivanandan and Kumar. Nagappan said the sculpture will be delivered to Mohanlal’s house in Chennai early next month.
