On Thursday, shortly after 9 a.m., there was an incident that was dangerous for many drivers in the fast lane of the Westautobahn A1 towards Vienna: an 18-year-old from the Salzburg area was driving his car on the autobahn towards Vienna, with him in the car 9 year old brother. At Mondsee, the 18-year-old, who was driving in the fast lane, noticed that the driver behind him was driving very close to his car.
After a few kilometers, the driver overtook the 18-year-old on the right, sat in front of his vehicle and suddenly braked his car until both came to a standstill in the fast lane. This also forced other road users to slow down and swerve.
The aggressive motorist got out of his vehicle and hit the 18-year-old’s car. He then came to the open side window, yelled at the 18-year-old and hit him in the face, police report. The perpetrator wanted to hit the 18-year-old in the face again, but he had already closed the window pane. So the aggressive man hit the car.
It was only when the 18-year-old grabbed his cell phone that the man let go of him and fled in his car. The 18-year-old sustained a minor injury to his face. The Seewalchen Autobahn Police launched an immediate search for the perpetrator and his vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
