Monkey pox: 90 cases reported in Quebec

Cases of monkeypox continue to increase in Quebec, with 90 cases reported.

The Quebec Ministry of Health also says that 813 doses of the monkeypox vaccine have been administered since May 27.

The symptoms reported consist mainly of skin lesions in the mouth and genitals. This may be accompanied by fever, headache, and joint or muscle pain.

Monkeypox is transmitted through close and prolonged contact.

In the majority of cases, the disease resolves on its own within 2 to 4 weeks.
