Montérégie: one seriously injured in a collision between two trucks

A 31-year-old man in a 53-foot truck was in critical condition in hospital following colliding with a snow removal truck on Highway 20 in Les Cèdres, Montérégie, early Wednesday.

Shortly following 3:00 a.m., the semi-trailer truck was traveling eastbound on the highway when it struck the snowplow that was carrying out work on the left lane, near Chemin Saint-Dominique.

The driver of the 53-footer was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital, while the other driver suffered minor injuries which, however, required his transport to hospital.

A police officer in collision investigation was dispatched to the scene to try to determine the circumstances of this accident, indicated spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Catherine Bernard.

On Wednesday morning, only one lane remained open to eastbound traffic on Highway 20, while investigators were able to analyze the scene of the collision.
