An individual was found dead on Sunday on the banks of the Rivière-des-Prairies in Montreal.
It was a passerby who made the sad discovery, near the intersection of boulevard Gouin and avenue Fernand-Gauthier, around 3:40 p.m.
The death of the individual, whose sex is still unknown, was confirmed on the spot. There is no trace of apparent violence, however, said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
Investigators rushed to the scene to shed light on the situation. “Since there is no criminal element, the investigation was transferred to the coroner’s office,” said Ms. Chèvrefils.
