The City of Montreal Police Department is investigating an arson that occurred Friday night in the Ville-Marie borough.

Around 3:50 a.m., the police caught the criminals red-handed when they had just deployed a device in the direction of an establishment on rue Notre-Dame Ouest.
While the suspects fled, officers brought the incendiary object under control.
“They quickly left in a vehicle. The police prioritized the incendiary object so that it did not catch fire, SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier explained to LCN.
“With the speed with which the suspects left the scene, it was best for them to expedite the investigation with the arson section.”
The investigation was to begin in the morning and videotapes were to be viewed. The business building suffered minor damage.
