The Montreal Canadiens announced that they have recalled forward Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket on Friday evening, following the Rocket’s 5-2 victory once morest the Manitoba Moose.

Roy will join the Habs on Saturday morning, when the team will host the Edmonton Oilers at the Bell Centre.

It is still unknown if he will be in uniform, but he might play the first game of his NHL career if that is the case. This is the first time he has earned a recall to the Bettman circuit.

Fifth round pick of the Canadiens in 2021, the 20-year-old forward is playing his first professional season. He is currently second in points for the Rocket this season with 12 goals and 30 points in 34 games.

Across the American League, Roy’s 30 points this season rank third among rookies behind Logan Stankoven (39 points) and Brandt Clarke (32 points).

Roy has seven points in his last six games, including four goals.
