Montreal Public Health opens an investigation into possible overdoses

Montreal Public Health is investigating to shed light on the cases of poisoning that occurred this weekend in the city center.

The events took place on Sunday followingnoon. Calls were made to 911 to report six people in possible overdose situations.

Four people were transported by ambulance, and one of them, a 42-year-old woman, is in critical condition.

The other three, two men and a woman, all aged over 30, are in stable condition, the SPVM confirmed.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) reported that 6 people were poisoned following the ingestion of unknown substances.

The links between these people are still undetermined, but it seems that they were together on the public highway, according to information from the SPVM.

The SPVM spokesperson declared that “these are exceptional circumstances.”

The police are still awaiting the results of blood tests to discover the substances responsible for this extraordinary situation.
