Mora makes his debut in Viña del Mar and receives Gold and Silver Gaviotas

Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Mora made his debut in Viña del Mar on Wednesday (February 28) and was honored with the Gaviota de Oro and Gaviota de Plata awards for his performance at Quinta Vergara.

At the 63rd edition of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile, Mora performed a list of songs that included some of her biggest hits, such as “512”, “Volando Remix”, “Tuyo” and “Donde se learn to want”, in addition to songs from his most recent album, Estrella. The “monster”, as the Viña public is known, identified with Mora’s songs of love and heartbreak, and reacted with euphoria to each of them.

“Thanks for everything, really. From the beginning, the love that this country gave me is, simply, incomparable,” Mora said after receiving the first Gaviota from him. “Thank you again Chile, and all of Latin America who are watching me. I think being in Viña is everyone’s dream. I love being able to share this moment with all of you and with my family, who came with me.”

Mora also shared a special message for people affected by the fires in early February that left more than 120 dead in Chile. “I really wanted to come here, and although many people told me not to come after what was happening with the fires, I felt it was more necessary to finally be here and do my part,” she shared. “I dedicate this Seagull to all those who suffered and had to deal with this situation.”

Anitta also performed on Wednesday, showing her Brazilian pride throughout an exciting set. The trilingual star twerked, got excited and delivered a favela funk party at Quinta Vergara, where she received the Silver Seagull. “Ever since I started singing in Spanish I learned about this festival and my dream since then was to sing here,” said the “Envolver” singer on stage. “So I am super happy to be here, I thank you very much, for so much love. From Brazil to Chile.”

Mora and Anitta’s performances followed those of Maná and Men at Work on Tuesday (February 27). Thursday (February 29) will be dedicated to Chilean artists with Los Bunkers and Young Cister on stage, and for the finale on March 1, Argentine artists Maria Becerra and Trueno will perform.
