The governor of the province of Jujuy and head of the UCR, Gerardo Morales, distanced himself again this Saturday from Mauricio Macriwho on Friday had highlighted the management of former president Carlos Menem. He considered that the referent of the PRO is “in its pure state”.
“Macri is in a pure state. Macri is also a leader, he is the head of the PRO, not of Together for Change and this is what generates noise. There are no bosses in radicalism, I am the president but we have horizontal leadership”, Morales said this morning.
“Macri is the head of the PRO and it seems to me that he wants to be president again and he has every rightis an important opinion leader in Together for Change, so what he says must be looked at and debated within Together for Change. From radicalism we do not agree with claiming these neoliberal policies“added the head of radicalism.
Macri’s statements about Menem
On Friday, Macri highlighted the presidency of Carlos Saúl Menem when noting that the former La Rioja president “every day is going to be more vindicated with the passage of time”, which generated a replica of different referents of the Civic Coalition and the UCRits partners within the Together for Change coalition.
“The one who had solved the problems of the crack in Argentina was President Menem, who will be vindicated every day with the passage of time,” Macri assured when speaking with Radio Miter Córdoba.
In his statements this Saturday, to CNN radio and then to Radio Con Vos, Morales again distanced himself from Macri for these concepts.

“That is why we do not agree to vindicate Menem and said by a leader like Macri, he invites debate within Together for Change,” insisted Morales, for whom the PRO leader has a “historical confusion”.

When asked if he would join a presidential formula with Macri, he replied: “No, we are going to dispute. Radicalism is going to have a candidate for president.”

Finally, he added that the fact that Milei “is what it is is the fault of the Front of All and of Together for Change” considering that there should be “internal dialogue” in the two spaces.
