In Germany, around three million people are affected by cardiac insufficiency. Older people in particular have an increased risk of developing coronary heart disease. The cause of the disease is a reduced blood supply to the heart, triggered by narrowed vessels. Genes, but also lifestyle have a decisive influence on the development of coronary heart disease. However, those who eat healthily and exercise regularly can significantly reduce the genetic risk.

In a current study, researchers have now examined the influence of physical activity, as revealed by 24vita.de.
