More than 1,000 companies were opened under the EAS modality, at the end of March

Asunción, IP Agency.- In the first three months of the year, some 1,372 new legal companies were opened, of which 96% are Simplified Joint Stock Companies (EAS), while the other legal companies (SA and SRL) reached a total of 51. businesses, being the remaining 4%.

Compared to the same period last year, the EAS registered an increase of 58%, since at the end of March 2024 they reached a total of 834 businesses.

Broken down by month, the data reveals that in the month of January some 455 companies were opened under this modality, while in February a volume of 470 was reached and in March some 396 companies were opened.

Leticia Giménez, General Secretary of SUACE, commented that there is a clear trend towards Simplified Joint Stock Companies when opening some type of business within the country.

Likewise, he explained that of the total number of EAS established in these first three months of the year, the service sector, especially commercial and services, leads, as well as legal and accounting activities, as well as explaining that professionals associate or create a legal entity. under this modality.

In relation to the number of EAS established in the first quarter, he pointed out that some 87 companies are of foreign origin, while highlighting that there is great interest from abroad, as locals, in opening their business under this modality.

“I believe that this difference in terms of preference for business type openings is due to the fact that the EAS modality is virtual, due to the pro forma statute, which they can opt for without incurring any type of expenses, as well as due to the speed of the process,” explained Giménez.

It is worth mentioning that the opening of an EAS has a minimum time to establish itself of 72 hours, using the Pro Forma Statute; and 8 business days using a different document or public deed.

Interconnection

On the other hand, the General Secretary of SUACE recalled that the growing preference for EAS finds new impetus with the recent interconnection with the National Development Bank (BNF). This milestone, reached approximately a month ago, allows users not only to establish a Simplified Joint Stock Company in an agile manner, but also to access financial services in an integrated manner.

Now, by establishing an EAS, entrepreneurs can open an account and a savings account at the BNF, with the perspective of soon expanding this service to open current accounts. In addition, the Bank will be launching specific products designed for EAS, which will provide significant added value to this type of companies.

He indicated that this advance represents a notable attraction for the EAS, since it simplifies the business establishment process and facilitates financial management from the beginning. With agreements with both the BNF and another local bank, users do not need to physically go to the branches, since all information is transmitted electronically, thus streamlining procedures and optimizing resources.

It is important to highlight that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), through the application of these policies, has the essential purpose of providing greater agility through the simplification of procedures, providing greater guarantees, and enhancing transparency in processes to promote greater investments. in Paraguay.
