More than 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, from the University of Health Sciences, are participating from this Monday in the 1st Scientific Conference on Health 2022 that begins this November 28 to 30 at the Military Circle of Fuerte Tiuna in Caracas, a space that will serve for debate in eight medical specialties.
This was reported by the People’s Power Minister for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, in statements to VTV, where she explained that the exchange of knowledge organized in four specialties, four in the morning and four in the afternoon, will take place for three days.
“At the end of the afternoon we don’t stay there, we go directly to the hospitals. (We see) first-hand the presentation of a clinical case chosen by the bioethics committee, that is, to expand knowledge in different areas, ”he said.
Speakers
More than 40 national and international speakers will share their knowledge with health professionals and students. “We have brought speakers from Cuba, from China so that we can exchange this knowledge in the different areas of specialties,” she added.
This Monday, the former president of the National Academy of Medicine and specialist in Pathological Anatomy, graduated from the UCV Anatomopathological Institute, Dr. Enrique López Loyo, who coordinated the exhumation of the remains of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández in 2020, offered a presentation in the forensic area, as part of the 1st Scientific Conference on Health 2022.
“Coincidentally, Dr. Loyo participated as a forensic doctor in the exhumation of the remains of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and it is important to listen to how the causes of death were scientifically verified and that will nourish the boys and girls who listen to him today,” emphasized.
Areas
The presentations will touch on aspects related to the areas of cardiology, internal medicine, nephrology, public health and epidemiology, gynecology, surgery, oncology and pediatrics.
He commented that what is pursued with this activity, which commemorates the 158th anniversary of the birth of Doctor José Gregorio Hernández, is to impart knowledge and make it a successful and profitable exchange to apply it in the National Public Health System.
“That the Venezuelan Medical Association, the private clinics, the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, Barrio Adentro, the National Public Health System, through Military Health, Ipasme, the Seguro Social to continue the training of our students,” he stressed.
