Three thousand and 700 people, including representatives of the State’s administrative structures, the business sector and the academic community were trained, in the last two months, in the country, on the new General Labor Law, which comes into force on the 26th of this month.

The information was provided yesterday in Caxito, province of Bengo, by the Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security, Pedro Filipe, who highlighted that the new law constitutes a turning point in the validity of the previous diploma.

Speaking at the opening of the regional seminar (Bengo and Zaire) to promote and train the new LGT, he mentioned that the law enshrines a catalog of personality rights, as well as the redefinition of special employment contracts.

According to the person responsible, the innovations introduced aim to promote institutional solutions that contribute to improving the management of labor relations.

The deputy provincial governor of Bengo for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, José Bartolomeu Pedro, asked those present to actively participate in the approaches, better understand and interpret the law, and become active agents in its implementation.

Among other provisions, the new General Labor Law expressly regulates teleworking and sports work contracts.

It provides greater flexibility in the organization and temporal duration of work, enshrines paternity leave and the reconfiguration of provisions relating to the termination of the employment relationship.

Promoted by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS), the two-day seminar aims to clarify for participants questions about the application of the new LGT, main innovations and reform measures introduced in the diploma, as well as encourage and promote compliance with them.
