More than 4 million people have fled Ukraine in recent weeks, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The daily rate of refugees continues to slow, according to its data relayed Tuesday in Geneva and which carry until Monday evening.
In total, more than 3.9 million people have taken refuge in neighboring countries since the start of the Russian offensive. To which are added 113,000 who had left the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk to join Russia in the days preceding the start of the war.
Of the millions of refugees, more than half went to Poland. More than 600,000 people arrived in Romania, nearly 390,000 in Moldova, more than 350,000 in Hungary, more than 270,000 in Slovakia and the same number in Russia. Along with the internally displaced, more than 10 million people have fled their homes.
After nearly 150,000 refugees in total per day at the start of the offensive, the daily volume is now below 40,000, having reached 35,000 on Monday, according to the UNHCR.
