More than 507,000 Quebecers are cared for by a group of doctors

The Quebec government has exceeded its objective: the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) listed, as of February 25, 507,594 Quebecers supported by a group of family doctors. The target of 500,000 registrations was therefore reached before the planned deadline of March 31.

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, concluded an agreement last May with the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec so that groups of doctors take care of patients collectively.

These patients must go through the first-line access counter (GAP) to obtain an appointment with a professional or a doctor from the group assigned to them. A triage nurse determines if a medical consultation is necessary.

More details will follow.
