BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) — A report on the development of Beijing municipal artificial intelligence released Monday said that the number of major AI enterprises in Beijing had reached 1,048 as of October 2022, accounting for 29 percent of the national total.
The report, released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economics and Information, indicated that Beijing has the highest industrial agglomeration capacity in China and has a well-developed artificial intelligence industry chain.
The report said that Beijing has more than 40,000 professionals in basic AI technologies, and that it has published the most research papers on AI in the country.
The number of smart factories and digital workshops in Beijing reached 36 and 47, respectively, in 2022.
In 2023, Beijing will guide enterprises, research institutes, open-source communities and others to cooperate to achieve core innovation of AI technology. It will also support major enterprises in creating large-scale ChatGPT models in pursuit of new breakthroughs in the development of the AI industry, according to the report. /ts/
