Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan Parliament is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an exhibition of photos and documents, as well as a national conference.

In partnership with the Archives of Morocco, the exhibition will retrace the key moments of parliamentary action from the creation of the National Consultative Council in 1956 to current reforms under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. The national conference will focus on the constitutional evolution of Parliament and the pillars, challenges and perspectives of its action.

Themes will include the Moroccan bicameral system, the relationship between the legislative and executive powers, the evaluation of public policies, as well as the relationship between Parliament and democratic practice.

The event will also pay tribute to former deputies Badia Skalli and Latifa Bennani Smires, the pioneers who served in the Moroccan Parliament in the 1990s.
