Zuhair Al-Matraji scored once in each half, to lead the Moroccan champion to the title for the second time at the expense of Al-Ahly of Egypt after 2017.

For the second consecutive season, the final was held in Morocco, after the controversial decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Al-Ahly had objected to holding the match in Wydad Stadium and demanded that it be held in a neutral stadium, but CAF did not heed the protest of the Egyptian team crowned with the title ten times.

The period leading up to the match witnessed several problems between Al-Ahly and Al-Kef due to the number of tickets presented to the team.
