Morocco: Banque Centrale Populaire launches SWIPE, a banking offer dedicated to 12-17 year olds

As part of the continuous enrichment of its banking offer, Banque Populaire integrates a new customer segment, 12-17 year olds, through an innovative, free and 100% online offer: SWIPE. The Bank is thus reinventing the notion of pocket money through a dedicated application and bank card.

The SWIPE offer allows young people aged 12 to 17 to take a first step towards their financial autonomy in complete safety, through a panoply of specially designed banking and para-banking services.

The SWIPE application allows you to withdraw money from ATMs without a card, pay bills and phone top-ups, make purchases from merchants via QR code and send money to an m-wallet or a bank account. It also gives the possibility to request money from parents, check their balance and follow their transactions in real time.

With the SWIPE card and its 4 customizable designs, young people can pay for their purchases in stores as well as online on national and international e-commerce sites.

Parents who are Banque Populaire customers also benefit, through the Pocket Bank mobile application, from a set of services that allow them to keep control of their children’s budget:

– sending money to their children’s Swipe account;

– consultation of the history of operations in real time;

– instantaneous deactivation and reactivation of the account and the SWIPE card;

– customization of payment options and SWIPE card limits.

This new offer, the first of its kind in Morocco, is of strategic importance for the Bank, which thus consolidates its position as a universal bank serving all customer segments.
