Morocco. Noticeable return for the new Opel Mokka

This is the novelty of this beginning of the year which comes to decorate in a very beautiful way all the showrooms of Opel in the Kingdom. The brand’s importer (SMAA- Auto Hall Group) has recently marketed the Mokka, an urban SUV that is well in tune with the times and has solid arguments capable of attracting customers.

Playing the card of differentiation to stand out from the competition, moreover, in a segment as highly competitive as that of SUVs, such was the leitmotif of the Opel engineering staff. And to tell the truth, the result seems really up to par. First, in terms of style where this new generation of Mokka displays a very assertive silhouette, recognizable among all.

The machine inherits a black grille of the most beautiful effect stamped with the new logo of the brand with, at its ends, fine LED lights. The very worked sides and the nicely penciled rear part give a nice impression of dynamism to the whole. Trendy, the Mokka is insofar as even the entry-level version (Edition) can have a black roof, as well as hulls of the mirrors of the same color.

A modern interior, combined with full on-board technology, these were the other subjects that were included in the specifications relating to the construction of the machine. Even if it measures 12 cm less than its predecessor, the new generation Opel Mokka still takes care of its passengers in terms of comfort, both front and rear, with appreciable roominess. The trunk meanwhile displays a volume of 350 liters, a value that is in line with the market average.

Called “Pure Panel”, the dashboard instrumentation revolves around two touch screens. In addition to their readability and versatility of use, they have the advantage of making the multitude of buttons and controls for operating comfort and safety equipment superfluous. Enough to give this interior a modern cachet. The latter smacks of moving upmarket with the use of more flattering materials by minimizing the use of hard plastics.

Under the hood, there is a 1.5 liter of 110 horsepower which comes to animate the Mokka in diesel version. A block with very significant performance, particularly in terms of versatility of use, but also in terms of consumption. Indeed, it claims on average only 3.8 l/100 km. Unless you prefer the 1.2-liter turbo with 130 horsepower, powered by an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and which is characterized by high efficiency, distilling good dynamic performance.

Combined consumption fluctuates between 4.5-4.8 l/100 km. For once, the engineers of the brand have brought to the Mokka its share of technical modifications among which a reduction in mass (the machine displaying 120 kg less than its predecessor). They also took the opportunity to also improve the rigidity of the body, allowing the machine to be responsive, agile and fun to drive. The new Opel Mokka can be ordered now at an attractive price, since prices start at 225,000 DH, a very attractive price compared to that displayed by its most direct competitors.
