The Moto G54 is one of Motorola’s most recent bets in the 5G intermediary segment and the new product arrived on the national market together with the Moto G84, which we have previously analyzed. Is this more affordable model also worth it?
The design of the Moto G54 doesn’t bring anything special. It is a simple cell phone with a completely flat front and back and a side structure with few curves made of smooth plastic. The model is available in graphite and light blue colors on the national market.
We didn’t have many new features on the screen and here we have a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The disappointing part is the maximum brightness well below the category. At least the sound part has evolved and the stereo sound is more powerful and of higher quality.
The Moto G54 comes in two configurations, both with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7020 chip. What changes between the two versions is that we have the one we analyzed with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and there is a more expensive one that comes with double the memory, that is, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal space. It doesn’t excite when used with multiple apps and also only does the basics when playing.
It comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, the same size as its predecessor. We had a small gain in autonomy, but it is still below the main rivals. In our test, the battery lasted 24 hours and takes almost 2 hours to recharge. The photographic set is simple with a 50 MP camera and 2 MP macro. Don’t expect much from the Moto G54 in photos and videos, but it really stands out in selfies.
Is the Moto G54 worth buying? If you have the old model, then we don’t recommend it as the improvements have been small.
