MotoAmerica Road Atlanta Qualification 1 : Jake Gagne se rebiffe !

The MotoAmerica Superbike Championship is packing its bags this weekend on the contrasting Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

After a first round in Austin two weeks ago largely dominated by Danilo Petrucci (Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York)he was doing no than the defending champion, Jake Gagne (Fresh N’ Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing), largely handicapped in Texas by multiple technical problems, had a strong taste of revenge in the mouth when arriving northeast of Atlanta, Georgia…

However, during free practice under the sun, it was not his official Yamaha that was at the top of the classification, but that of Mathew Scholtz (Westby Racing), the Californian having to settle for 2nd position while Danilo Petrucci was positioned 4th by more than a second.

The Italian reduced this gap to 3 tenths during the first qualifying session, this time well dominated by a Jake Gagne untouchable while his teammate Cameron Petersen was forced to forfeit.

On Saturday, the schedule includes a second 30-minute qualifying and a 19-lap race.
