Motorola is making a remarkable comeback in Switzerland. He presented his latest Moto Razr 40 in Zurich on Thursday evening, including an Ultra version, boosted by a large 3.6-inch external screen and sold 1190 Swiss francs or euros… For 890 Swiss francs or euros, the Lenovo brand also offers a Razr 40 with a minimum 1.5-inch external screen. Once again, as for the Razr 2022, it’s a small shock, as this Moto Razr 40 Ultra is so well finished, svelte and friendly! The Chinese outsider also offers a multitude of “Pantone” colors that would be suitable for different target groups.

And it is true that the large external screen protected by ultra-resistant glass of the Gorilla Glass Victus type positions it very favorably on the market. According to its designers, it would also be possible to do everything on this beautiful OLED screen!
But the highlight of the show is obviously the internal OLED screen with a diagonal of 6.9 inches, the continuity of which is just superb, since the central fold is very discreet, almost imperceptible. Note that it is able to reach 165Hz. Incredible compared to the size of this most slender smartphone.
A nice technical sheet
On the technical sheet side, we note that it benefits from the power of a Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 (only) and 8 GB (12 GB in certain markets) of RAM. On the battery side, it has to deal with a small 3800 mAh battery on a 30W charger, which is already not bad.
It remains to be seen what the optical part will give of this racing beast, which can count on a symphony of 8, 12, 13 and 32 Mpx photo sensors. The zoom value tested does not exceed 8x, which is low in the current constellation. The first results are promising.
Price and availability
Finally, there is the issue of price and availability. The superb viva magenta (red) is offered exclusively at Sunrise UPC until August 2 at a price of 1190 francs for 256 GB of storage, while the other black and blue models will gradually arrive in Switzerland with all operators.
This offensive is to be followed closely given the value of previous models. Remember that Motorola, an iconic American brand that is now Chinese (…) is in its fourth generation of foldable smartphones. Indeed, this device shows a certain maturity in hand…
