Motorola Razr 40 Ultra – Test in heavy games (PUBG, Genshin Impact, COD, etc)

2023-07-23 23:00:00

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra was launched in June 2023 with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, which is not the latest and greatest chipset from Qualcomm but still packs tremendous firepower. It comes with 12 GB of RAM memory and a reduced battery capacity of 3800 mAh. As for the screens, the Razr has a foldable P-OLED display, 6.9 “on the inside and 3.6 “on the outside, FullHD resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

And as this device here is a foldable one, it is to be expected that its value is not even a change of bread, is it not? BRL 7,200.00. That’s what you read. If you want the best from Motorola, you’re going to have to shell out some cash.

Unfortunately Samsung didn’t send us the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to compare with the Razr, which is a shame. We will then have to use the Edge 30 Ultra, from Motorola itself, as a competitor in today’s test. Remembering that the two smartphones have the same processor, so, in theory at least, both were supposed to be the same.

Lastly, you probably already know, but the Razr is top of the line, so all the games we play today are in the MAX graphics quality, it’s true? Go for the tests.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra test in heavy games

Asphalt 9

At first we played our classic Asphalt 9, which ran very well on the Razr, with the graphics at maximum and without any crashes.

Its average framerate was 59 FPSwith one 100% stability is autonomy of 4:40h of battery life.

The Edge 30 Ultra finished with the same results as the competitor. Its framerate was 59 FPS, with 100% stability and no major problems.

COD Mobile

A game that certainly surprised us was COD, because not only was it possible to play with the performance completely maximized and rated, but we were also able to configure it up to the maximum graphics.

The Razr took, as we speak, a jig of 60 FPS on average, with 100% stability and an autonomy of 3:55h of battery life.

The Edge 30 Ultra was not far behind in this dispute, also taking an average of 60 frames, with 100% stability.

Again, ✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ for both.

Diablo Immortal

Diablo Immortal ran well and didn’t crash once, but there’s a catch: the Razr didn’t allow us to enable the game’s highest resolution, so we had to settle for the medium resolution. But you don’t have to worry, because the graphics were at their best, so we didn’t have any setbacks.

Anyway, the Razr took the average of 60 frames, with 99% stability and a modest autonomy of 3:10h of battery life.

The Edge 30 Ultra narrowly won, as it managed to score an average of 60 FPS, with 100% stability, a benchmark.

eFootball

As always, the two tested smartphones were able to run eFootball masterfully, but none of them did any miracles of getting 120 frames or something like that, let’s be clear.

The Razr averaged 60 FPS, with 100% stability and 5:50h of battery life.

The Edge 30 Ultra never got tested in eFootball, which is a shame. But I’m sure he also runs this game without any problem.

Fortnite

What was going very well, has gone downhill now that we arrived at Fortnite, check it out.

The Razr performed poorly in this game, scoring only 36 media framescom minimum of 20 and several very annoying crashes throughout the game. It’s probably something related to the optimization of the smartphone in games, but we can’t stop talking regarding this problematic performance coming from such a premium cell phone.

The Edge 30 Ultra, on the other hand, managed to reach an impressive average of 60 frames, with a minimum of 35 frames, showing us a certain instability in the game.

Anyway, ⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ for the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.

Free Fire

If you thought the Razr would drive the crazy and surprise everyone with an average of 90 FPS on Frifas, you thought it was wrong, because this little guy here performed just like all the other high-end devices we tested.

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra marked the average of 60 framescom 100% stability e 5:10 hours long fire in Free Fire with the graphics at maximum.

Edge 30 Ultra also finished the stage with a jig, scoring 60 FPS, with 100% stability.

✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ for both cell phones.

Genshin Impact

Another half-assed result was Genshin Impact, which only gave us half of what we wanted.

The Razr reached an average of 30 FPS, with a stability of 98% and an autonomy of 4:50h of battery life. Look, before you complain that “ah, but you didn’t activate the 60 FPS option, that’s why it stuck at 30”, know that we did activate it.

I can’t say for sure why the game stuck at that framerate, but if I were to guess, I’d say it’s some limit in the cell phone’s operating system itself. Some internal Razr automatic setting that prevents it from using the full potential of the processor due to temperature issues, battery or something like that.

Anyway, the Edge 30 Ultra scored an average of 47 frames, with 97% stability.

⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ para o Razr 40 Ultra no Genshin Impact.

Mortal Kombat

In Mortal Kombat, our situation was regularized once more, as the Razr achieved an impressive result even for a top-of-the-line device.

He scored the 121 frame mediacom 100% stability and a regular autonomy of 3:15 hours long is the battery

The Edge 30 Ultra was barely behind, reaching an average of 120 frames, with a stability of 100%.

????Competitive Wheel Seal???? for the two tested smartphones.

PUBG

With GFX Tools activated, graphics at maximum and all framerate options turned on, we tested the classic PUBzinho.

The Razr didn’t allow us to get as many frames as possible, crashing at 60 FPS averagecom 100% stability e autonomy of 4:30hwhich is great.

The Edge 30 Ultra managed to break the infamous performance barrier and scored an average of 90 frames, with 100% stability at maximum graphics.

✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ for the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.

Tower of Fantasy

The Razr didn’t break records in Tower Of Fantasy, but it by no means performed poorly.

As much as the framerate was limited in 60 FPS, with 97% stabilitythe game did not crash significantly once, resulting in a super fluid and recommendable gameplay despite the 60 limit. 4:00 hours duration is the battery

The Edge 30 Ultra scored an average of 89 frames, with 99% stability.

✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ for the Razr 40 Ultra.

Farlight 84

At Farlight, the performance was a great show, but nothing more. We mightn’t hit framerates higher than 60, as we saw in other games in today’s test, which is disappointing but something to expect.

The Razr took the average 60 FPSwith one 100% stability e 3:30 hours of autonomy from the battery. The Edge 30 Ultra was never tested on the Farlight 84.

✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ for Razr.

Temperature

We played an hour of COD Mobile to find out how much battery is lost in that period, as well as the temperature of the device’s screen. After that one hour of gaming, the Razr 40 Ultra warmed up ????17°C???? on its surface and lost ????20%???? loading.

These numbers reflect exactly the type of device we’re using: a foldable one. The high temperature variation and the rapidly draining battery are consequences of having less internal space in the device. So if any of you out there are looking to buy a Razr, or any other foldable, know that these problems are characteristic of almost all models. There’s nothing to do, you’ll get the device hot and you’ll have less battery time unfortunately.

Conclusion

Seriously now, is there anyone who really doubted the potential of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra? It’s a foldable and a top of the line, never in history has a device with these two characteristics done poorly in our Roda Liso games test. In this situation, the elephant in the room is price. There’s no way we can’t stop talking regarding the high value of this device, which is understandable, given the difficulty and complexity to create a smartphone of this level.

His battery is also an important point to note since, as much as Motorola has reduced its size and amount of mAh, the Razr still holds up to a few hours of gaming. But have common sense, for God’s sake, because the little guy here is no Galaxy M62, with 7000 mAh and that can handle a week of intense use. The Razr’s battery is reduced and performs OK compared to other foldables, right?

That said, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra will take the ????Competitive Wheel Seal???? in our gaming test with maximum graphics, ranking 6th in our top-of-the-line device ranking.
