Mount Pinacle opens its trails in winter for a second year

OUTDOORS. Harold F. Baldwin Park is once once more opening the trails of Mount Pinacle in the winter season.

The first outdoor enthusiasts were able to “officially” go to the summit for the first time this year, on January 3.

Last year, the organization tried the experiment for the first time in the cold season. “It had gone well, despite the vagaries of Mother Nature,” said Vincent Brochu, a member of the group’s board of directors and Coaticookois municipal councilor. However, we expected greater enthusiasm. We had enough paid entries to cover our costs and ensure a certain sustainability for the winter opening. »

Those who attempt to climb the mountain must wear crampons or snowshoes. A daily rate of $7 is charged to visitors and they will have to reserve their time slot online, just like in the summer period. A season pass, this one costing $28, will also be available. Residents of the Coaticook MRC will always have free access to the mountain.

Remember that Harold F. Baldwin Park is the organization that manages the Mount Pinacle trails.
