Mountain biker Höll wins downhill home world cup in Leogang

Local hero Valentina Höll won the mountain bike downhill world cup in Leogang for the first time in a superior manner. The 21-year-old world champion raced to victory in the second race of the season on Saturday, 4.3 seconds ahead of Camille Balanche from Switzerland. Rachel Atherton, who was successful at the season opener in Switzerland, came third. For Höll, who was fourth in Lenzerheide, it is the fifth World Cup triumph in her elite career.

“Leogang is such a tough race. Last year was a disaster, I’ve been that close a few times. Now it worked, it’s fantastic. It feels so good,” said Leogang several times in recent years fallen hell.
