Engineer Hashem Haidar, President of the Lebanese Football Association, revealed the implementation of the video assistant referee (VAR) technology in the Lebanese Football League, starting from the next season, noting that it will be limited to first-class matches.
He pointed out that the matches will be held over 3 days in order to enable the application of technology to all matches, stressing that the technology will help the federation and the referees to come out with an arbitration clean season.
Engineer Haidar also revealed that the federation had been informed of the decision of refusing the management of the Mazraa Youth Stadium to grant the land to the Football Association, in order to build a headquarters for the federation and a large stadium, where another land will be searched for.
He pointed out, in an interview with colleague Rashid Nassar on MTV, that the federation paid a lot of money for the maintenance of the stadiums, although it is outside its powers, indicating that the federation contributed through the “FIFA” programs to rehabilitate the stadiums in Zgharta, Jounieh, Bhamdoun, Ansar, Al-Ahed and Al-Safa.
He revealed that he had not yet decided on the issue of his explanation for the presidency of the Lebanese Football Association in the upcoming elections, stressing that the Lebanese Football Association is one of the fairest federations in Asia and that all decisions are taken unanimously.
