Maccabi Netanya continues to improve under Marko Belbul, and tonight (Saturday) they recorded a third game in a row without a loss in all formats, and a first league victory, with a 0:1 home win over Hapoel Jerusalem, a result that kept them away from the bottom.
Ziv Aryeh’s team didn’t really look like the team that came into this game after three consecutive victories, and Maccabi Netanya took advantage of this to take the lead in the 21st minute when an exchange of passes between Igor Zlatanovich and Oz Bilo ended with the latter’s pass to Bar Cohen, and the midfielder kicked the ball into the net of Nadav Zamir.
Perhaps because it is ranked first in the lower playoffs, Hapoel Jerusalem did not really look like a team for which victory is a critical thing, and did not really reach situations. However, the Jerusalemites felt disadvantaged at the end after a suspected foul by Ahmed Salman for giving a kick in the box did not lead to a penalty, even after a VAR review.
