Mr. Arévalo’s official inauguration ceremony took place at the Miguel Angel Asturias National Theater, in the presence of numerous heads of state and government, as well as representatives of legislative institutions and delegations.
During this ceremony, the president of the House of Representatives was accompanied by the Moroccan ambassador to Guatemala, Tarik Louajri.
On this occasion, R. Talbi El Alami conveyed to Mr. Bernardo Arévalo the congratulations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of his election to the supreme office of his country.
This ceremony was an opportunity to express Morocco’s readiness to strengthen its relations with Guatemala in all areas, indicated the President of the House of Representatives in a statement to MAP.
In a message addressed to Mr. Bernardo Arévalo following his election to the presidency of the Republic of Guatemala, His Majesty the King expressed his warm congratulations to Mr. Arévalo for the trust placed in him by the friendly people of Guatemala , as well as His sincere wishes for success in his high office.
“On this occasion, I express to you the consideration that we have, in the Kingdom of Morocco, for the ties of distinguished friendship which unite us with the Republic of Guatemala, and for the bilateral cooperation relations which are experiencing exponential progress in all areas and which, I am convinced, will strengthen for the benefit of both peoples and in the service of complementarity and South-South cooperation,” indicated the Sovereign.
