MrBeast takes on Twitch: The Battle for Streamer Freedom

2023-06-06 21:10:49

Blogger Jimmy MrBeast Donaldson commented on the limitations of ad integrations on Twitch. On Twitter, the content maker also stated that he might host a livestream on another streaming platform, Kick, in protest.

Hey Twitch, maybe we should help streamers make more content instead of putting restrictions on them? I think it’s more logical.

Donaldson noted that the reaction of streamers who broadcast on Twitch is quite logical, in contrast to the actions of the platform administration.

Streamers must be [в ярости]. People who are barely making ends meet have just had their income cut. But I love how Twitch is starting to double-down on stupid decisions as the competition in the market grows.

MrBeast also subscribed to Kick’s twitter and stated that he would like to go live on the platform to support the protest once morest Twitch.

Maybe I’ll stream [на Kick] – just for fun and to protest once morest Twitch lol.

Previously, Twitch updated the rules regarding ad integrations. Starting July 1, streamers will be required to tag broadcasts with sponsored content and will not be able to air pre-recorded promotional content. In addition, the platform administration has reduced the allowable size of banners to 3% of the screen size.
