MASJID Raya Bintaro Jaya (MRBJ) handed over humanitarian aid to Palestine amounting to IDR 100 million on Tuesday (12/3). Donations collected since October 2023 through the MRBJ account are donations from the congregation and the wider community.
The aid was symbolically handed over by the Chairman of the MRBJ Foundation Prastowo M Wibowo accompanied by the Chairman of the Trustees of the MRBJ Foundation Bambang Suprihadi to the General Secretary of the South Tangerang MUI Abdul Rozak at MRBJ.
“We handed over financial assistance from the MRBJ congregation for Palestine amounting to IDR 100 million. This is the second time handing over aid after the previous one in December 2023
handed over a donation of IDR 500 million,” said Prastowo in his statement.
Prastowo explained that the IDR 100 million donation was intended for Muslim families in Palestine who are currently fasting during Ramadan. Meanwhile, a donation of IDR 500 million is intended as health assistance for the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza through MER-C.
“Thank God, we have received humanitarian assistance amounting to IDR 100 million from the MRBJ congregation which we will then pass on to our brothers and sisters in Palestine,” said Abdul.
“We are trying to ensure that this aid reaches our deserving brothers and sisters in Palestine so that they can observe Ramadan happily like other Muslims,” he continued.
Assistance for Palestine is in line with the Ramadan program at MRBJ in order to enliven Ramadan, one of which is the distribution of 600 ifthar packages every day to the congregation. (Z-6)
