We knew that Intel was preparing for the launch of its 14th generation of Intel Core processors for the end of the year. Now, thanks to MSI, we know some confidential details. The blunder happened during a presentation broadcast by MSI on YouTube on the sidelines of Gamescom. Among the pages of the presentation, a page marked with a ” confidential, do not share! is being streamed online.

The video was removed by MSI, but too late some netizens had taken their screenshots.

From 3 to 17% more performance

As its name suggests, the Raptor Lake Refresh generation should not revolutionize the processor at Intel. The MSI page even mentions that there will be no change in the architecture and that the manufacturing process remains the same: Intel 7 (10 nm).

Here you can read an overview of the future range of processors with the Intel Core i5-14600K, i7-14700K and i9-14900K. Each should offer higher frequencies to improve performance. The Intel Core i7 would also be entitled to one of the additional E cores. These are the processor’s low-power cores. According to MSI and Intel, increasing the number of cores should increase performance on multicore tasks by an average of 17%.

These leaks may be disappointing, but Intel is also preparing more important innovations with these new architectures. The brand will adopt brand new names for these processors to mark the difference. For Meteor Lake, Intel would switch to 7nm etching and be optimized for Windows 12. After that, Intel is working on an all-new architecture with Lunar Lake, “capable of regaining the leadership in terms of performance per watt” we are promised. .
