Artist Mohamed Hamaki decided to donate the profits from his concerts during the coming period to support Palestinian families in Gaza that were recently subjected to the Israeli aggression, which left 3,785 martyrs, including 1,524 children, 1,000 women, and 120 elderly people, in addition to 12,493 others suffering various injuries.

Hamaki wrote on his official newspaper on the social networking site: “The longevity of art has a strength that appears in difficult situations. I always stood by the strength of Umm Kulthum when she was at the height of the war, giving concerts so that her profits would go to support the Egyptian army (the war effort).”

He added: “Since the weapon in my hand is technical, I decided to use it from today until the crisis of our people in Palestine ends.”

He continued: “All profits from my concerts will go in the form of donations to the Egyptian Red Crescent to support our sisters against the aggression they are being subjected to.”

With this decision, Hamaki is considered the first Arab artist to decide to donate the profits from his concerts to support Palestinian families, similar to the well-known war effort of the star of the East, Umm Kulthum, the nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez, and the stars of the era of fine art.
