What is already visible: times are now 15 to 20 seconds slower. On the one hand, this is due to the darkness, but mainly due to the dirt on the road, because cutting curves repeatedly brings mud onto the route.

Jan Dolzer takes the lead.

January 5, 2024 – 5:08 p.m

We’re starting in Lasberg for the second time in just half an hour. The first drivers are then expected back in the service park from 5.45 p.m. And then at the latest, the drivers have to think about which chassis they should choose for tomorrow. Because on snow you need the gravel chassis. The second variant would be the asphalt chassis that is currently on it.

January 5, 2024 – 4:24 p.m

The drivers now drive a loop back through Freistadt’s main square to the start of the second Lasberg test. Service may not be carried out on the cars now.

The 37th Truck Friends on the Road January Rally powered by Wimberger opens today with two special stages in the Arena Lasberg. The field of participants start in reverse order. In other words: Karel Hock with starting number 76 will open the rally in a Skoda 130RS, Simon Wagner with starting number 1 will take to the track as the 76th driver.

The first round starts at 3 p.m., after which the pilots come to Freistadt’s main square for a stopover and then the special test takes place for the second time. While it will still be light during the first special test, the second test will take place in the dark.

We recommend that all fans download the ORM app. On the one hand, our live ticker is also implemented there, and on the other hand, spectators at the routes receive important safety information. The former January Rally app, however, is no longer active.
