Dubai : Municipality cleans up Dubai city on New Year’s Eve last night. The authorities had prepared a special team for this. More than 100 inspectors and supervisors inspected the inside and outside of the celebration areas. For this, 13,920 visits were made. An integrated team of 605 municipal cleaners and 62 supervisors was set up to ensure cleanliness. More than 15 tons of public waste was removed from major festival venues.
The activities focused on various restaurants, hotels, remnant cafes, parks, beaches and shopping malls. The clean-up was mainly on Sheikh Zayed Road, Expo 2020 Village, Business Bay Street, Al Khail Street, Dubai Frame, Al Seef Street, Burj Khalifa area, public beaches, Al Khudra and Love Lake.
Resolved 13 complaints regarding waste accumulation during festivals. 109 additional waste bins of various sizes were distributed in crowded places. The Dubai Municipality had set up 61 vehicles and equipment for the clean-up operation.
