With the aim of massifying the practice of field hockey in the city, the Municipality of Chillán supported with infrastructure and logistics the “Field Hockey for All” Tournament, organized over the weekend by the Cumbres Sur Club on the synthetic field of the Sports Complex. Quilamapu.

The massive activity brought together teams from various locations, including Los Angeles, Old Mix and Río Bravo, teams that joined the Colegio Alemán, Wessex and Club Cumbres Sur de Chillán, who competed in the mixed adult and under 17 ladies categories.

“It was spectacular, we brought together teams from Los Angeles and Chillán, united by the same passion that is field hockey. Seeing the Quilamapu court full, with 80 players, was exciting. It was a tournament full of action, where the passion for hockey was manifested in every game, in every play and in every shout of encouragement, from teammates and the public,” reflects Fernanda Beltrán, president of the Cumbres del Sur Club, who revealed the great objective of this type of sporting events.

“It was the great opportunity to promote field hockey in the city and that is what we want to achieve. That hockey is a sport for everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from, that is why we are working tirelessly to promote and expand the practice of hockey in Chillán, from the organization of initiatives like this to the implementation of initiation programs in schools. and local clubs. “We want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the excitement and camaraderie that hockey can offer and the truth is that we could not do it without the support of Mayor Camilo Benavente, Hernán Blasco, sports advisor and the entire Municipality of Chillán,” Beltrán detailed.

The “Hockey For All” tournament was led in the mixed adult category by the cast of Cumbres Sur A, followed by Old Mix and Cumbres Sur B. In the under 17 category, Old Mix won the title, escorted by Cumbres South and Wessex College.
