In this Monday’s session, the Deliberative Council of May 25 unanimously approved a project sent by the Executive to validate a rental contract for a house in Olavarría for young people in their twenties who are studying Medicine in that city.
The initiative highlights the great importance for families of having a place where their children can reside with comfort and thus develop a university career that also entails other daily expenses.
Likewise, it maintains that “it is the purpose of this municipal State to accompany the progress of young people to develop in the matter of which they have a vocation and to practice a profession during the course of their lives, guaranteeing access to public university education for all citizens.” ” and adds that this “clearly entails the fulfillment of dreams and the possibility of realizing the objectives proposed by each of the twenty-five-year-olds.”
During the session, the councilor of the Interblock of the Frente de Todos, Claudia Elosegui, expressed that “it is the second house in which the Municipality contributes resources to pay the rent to accommodate twenty-five-year-old students. It fills us with pride to continue betting on education with concrete and tangible actions”.
Likewise, he clarified that “the rent is paid through the Educational Fund, which sometimes questions us on what is invested, well, this is one of the expenses” and explained that “in total in Olavarría we are going to accommodate fifteen students, all have scholarships to face their studies”.
“It is a bet from this municipal management to those students who can be trained as medical professionals with a look to the future. Hopefully they can graduate and one day give back a little to the city that has accompanied them so much in their formation”, closed Elosegui.
