The Appellate Tribunal of Peshawar accepted the appeal against rejection of the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Murad Saeed for the Senate elections.
Appellate Tribunal judge Justice Shakeel Ahmed heard the case, at the beginning of the hearing Murad Saeed’s lawyer said that the money in Murad Saeed’s account was called investment which was wrong.
On this, the complainant’s lawyer said that the returning officer has recorded 6 objections.
Continuing his speech, lawyer Murad Saeed said that the objection against Murad Saeed is that he is a fugitive, the documents cannot be rejected if he is a fugitive, this is the decision of the High Court.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed inquired whether he is still absconding. The lawyer said that Jee is still absconding, the judge remarked that he should get bail then.
The lawyer informed the court that Murad Saeed’s life is in danger, so he is not coming forward, it is hoped that after becoming a senator, there will be some ease, they have also filed a case for details of cases against Murad Saeed Objection of fake signature has also been raised on the documents, we have the video that the documents were signed by Murad Saeed himself, we also showed the video to the returning officer.
On this occasion, the lawyer-complainant said that Murad Saeed mentioned 9 cases in the papers for the National Assembly, but there is no mention of these cases in the Senate elections, he mentioned 10 more cases in the Senate elections, but not the previous ones. Murad Saeed did not detail in the papers despite being aware that Murad Saeed violated the code of conduct twice and did not collect the fine.
On this, lawyer Murad Saeed said that he has collected the fine, we also have the original receipts.
The counsel for the complainant added that the documents did not disclose the amount in the bank account.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed asked lawyer Murad Saeed why it was not disclosed in the papers. The lawyer replied that we have not written in the form but have attached the FBR report along with the documents.
On this, the lawyer Election Commission said that this appeal was not submitted by Murad Saeed, if there is no problem then bring Murad Saeed, the papers will also be approved immediately.
The lawyer said that the court should grant bail. I will bring it to the court now.
Later, the Appellate Tribunal reserved its decision on Murad Saeed’s appeal against rejection of nomination papers.
A few hours later, the Appellate Tribunal accepted Murad Saeed’s appeal against the rejection of nomination papers and declared PTI eligible for the Senate elections.
The Appellate Tribunal also allowed Khurram Zeeshan’s appeal.
It should be remembered that Murad Saeed’s nomination papers were rejected for the Senate elections on March 12.
