72 hours before welcoming Eid al-Fitr, residents of Saad Ghoneim Street in the Bashteel area, north of Giza, were in for an exciting episode of reality drama. The sound of a solid body hitting the ground caught the attention of the people, so they ran from all directions looking for the cause, and the biggest disaster was waiting for them.
The body of a naked young man with burn marks, bruises and abrasions, tied with ropes, breathed his last amid a fountain of blood that flowed from his emaciated body. The scene left everyone terrified and shocked at the same time, with questions about his identity: “Who is this man, and what is his story? He fell alone and no one threw him?”
Attention turned to a property next to Hamza Mosque – the source of the fall – in conjunction with the arrival of investigation cars led by Brigadier General Amr Hegazy, head of investigations in the northern sector, and a team from the Public Prosecution for inspection.
Search for the woman
Since his arrival, Colonel Magdy Moussa, inspector of investigations for the Warraq and Osim Division, has been collecting information, the most important of which is: “What was the mysterious young man doing on the property?” Especially the neighbors’ assertion, “This boy does not live here.”

Honor is precious
Revenge is the password. During the past week, rumors abounded about the relationship of the young man and the woman until it reached her two brothers, so they decided to punish him in their own way. They agreed with her to lure him to spend an evening of forbidden sex – as was their custom – and as soon as he got up and took off his clothes, they went up with two of their relatives.
The four tied him with ropes, beat him, and forced him to sign 10 security receipts to ensure his silence and that he would not inform the police later. However, he chose a different ending that claimed his life when he jumped from the balcony of the apartment on the eighth floor.
The picture was complete: the wife was convicted, her brother, and their relatives were involved in the crime. The police arrested them and put them behind bars in pretrial detention by order of the Public Prosecution, awaiting the decision of their fate before the judge.
