The police had gone to the area for the first time a few hours earlier, between midnight and 1 a.m., for an intervention related to an argument.

Le SPVQ mentions that a person involved in this first intervention was also involved in the one that occurred in the early morning. It is not known at this time whether it is the suspect, the victim or a third party.

Police are trying to determine if the two events are related.

Second kill of the year

This is the second murder of the year to occur on the territory of the Service de police de la Ville de Québec. The first occurred last April in the Lac-Saint-Charles sector. Kim Lebel, 30, is accused of killing Jacques Côté, 65, in the middle of the street.

This event comes exactly one week after a man was charged with the attempted murder of a 46-year-old woman in the context of domestic violence in the Beauport sector.

After being arrested for the first time around 9 p.m., Michel Boucher, 51, would have appeared a second time at the victim’s home located on Sainte-Cécile Street, around 11 p.m., to attack her again.
